The members of our Species that I admire the most of all...

Obama = HOPE

(IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER) 1.Hans & Sophie Scholl, Incredibly courageous German student resistors to the Third Reich (executed by the Nazis in 1943) 2. Aung Sang Suu Kyi 3. Nelson Mandela - incarcerated for 27 years for doing the right thing, & he forgave his captors long before he was ever released. A Giant
among men & women...
4. Rick Rescorla - Decorated Vietnam War Hero & THE Hero in the Twin Towers on 9/11

I take a nice photo when the moment is just right (& I LOVE Digital Photography)

A moment captured, Atlanta Airport, Oct 2002. I'm proud of this one. I was just rushing towards the Departure Gate, & was stopped dead by the serenity & beauty this scene as I trotted by. Got Camera ready & took about four shot's. This one is by way the best one. Wonder who the guy in the seat was. He never knew I took a photo. I was able to capture the light of the sunset steaming through the windows with my trusty Canon G2, sans flash. He just set the picture off perfectly - the Lone Passenger, waiting for his connection, taking in the sunset. Posted by Picasa

I REALLY LIKE big extinct DEAD STUFF

Megalodon, the largest carnivorous shark that ever existed, (about 4 times bigger than a Great White) misses lunch by about 2 million years...(me in Aquarium exhibit in New Orleans, 2002)

I could look at pictures of The Earth from space for ever...

Nice bit of Planetary Evolution down there. Pity about the not so intelligently designed Shuttle.. . Posted by Picasa

I have so many MILES DAVIS & JOHN COLTRANE CD's I've earned the Anorak

Surely Intelligent Design? Nah, just a much deeper, more profound example of musical Evolution In Action. OK, so if you are twenty something reading this, you probably think this music is boring & inpenetrable . Wait 'til you hit your thirties, a chemical reaction may well occur (as did with yours truly). Two albums to buy next time you see 'em in the bargain bin - Kind Of Blue, & A Love Supreme. Get into them in your twenties if you can, it'll give you more time to appreciate the enormity of what these two guys achieved musically. You'll also have more time to delve into thier respective back catalogues which are deep & wide & wonderful. Don't get me started on these guys. I have'nt even mentioned Dextor Gordon

The Disposible Soma - Reflections on this oh too short life

I can't remember who said it (maybe you do?) but someone once described life as a sliver of light sandwiched between two eternities of darkness. A pretty good description of the Gift/Predicament we find ourselves with & in here on this Pale Blue Dot we call "Earth"
